Macarons in Perth

>I first heard the existence of “macarons” was when I watched the Masterchef Australia last year from the Chef Adriano Zumbo (no, my son’s name didnt came from him). Adrian was still in my tummy so masa tu tengok pun macam tak ambil peduli sangat. Or wait, maybe masa diaorang tunjuk I was in KL. Entahlah.

Anyway, lepas tu I kept hearing orang Malaysia pun asyik makan tu je. I didnt get a chance to try it in KL yang jual dekat Empire Mall tu just because I don’t know where the mall is. Takut nak drive seorang2 sebab takut sesat. Wangsa Walk pun tak tau dekat mana, inikan Empire Mall pula.

Balik KL time pregnant for couple weeks, of course bukan macarons yang dicari. Yang penting makanan melayu mesti dilantak habis habisan and shopping barang baby. That’s what I did for 2 weeks in KL.

Makin hari makin ramai orang Malaysia duk sibuk pasal macarons so I google where I could find it in Perth. There are several cafes sell them but I went to the nearest, in CBD.

It’s a french cafe called Jean Pierre Sanco. It’s my first time trying it so I couldn’t really say it’s good than the other or vice versa. But so far, I love it. The crunchiness and the cream are just beyond amazing.

It is sweet. Mana ada benda2 macam ni tak sweet tapi the price cekik darah for something that small. Patut buatlah besar lagi. This is my first time and surely won’t be the last time.

Here’s some of the cafe sell macarons in Perth:

- Choux Cafe (Swanbourne)
- Martineaus (Stirling Hwy)
- Francois (Leederville)
- Jean Pierre Sancho (Hay St)
- Le Galette de France (Nedlands)
